It’s the fifth year for Crafts for Kids, a festival to raise money to buy craft, art and music supplies for children at the IWK. Organizer Lindsay Allain started the event to raise money for sick children, like her own little sister.

Allain says her sister “gets excited to stay at the hospital because of the craft room,” so Allain “decided to make it more awesome for her.” This year, the event is bigger than ever and boasts 38 bands in seven shows over five days, with local artists and musicians coming together to get people dancing and rocking out for a great cause.

Evening shows start at 10:30pm. On Thursday, December 10, punk fans can head over to Gus’ Pub (2605 Agricola Street) to check out

Myles Deck and the FuzzCuban Assassins, the Fat Stupids,Crimson Tides and Stop Motion Massacre ($5), or head back to Gus’ on Friday, December 11, for a reunion party featuring No Flyers Pleaseand four other bands ($5).
